TCGI’s extensive experience in water resources engineering has been serving the firm well in fulfilling its commitment to help both the government and the private sector in providing the necessary infrastructure/facilities for water resources and related environmental concerns.

The firm’s project engagements in these areas involve the planning, design and construction management of small water impounding reservoirs and multi-purpose dams for irrigation purposes as well as water treatment and distribution systems and sewerage and sewage treatment facilities for cities, municipalities, and industries.  TCGI’s extensive experience in this sector also involves flood control and drainage systems, river training and watershed improvement.


Agusan del Norte, Philippines

Utilization and control of the Agusan River through flood mitigation and irrigation works. Flood control works involve a river floodway (17,980 has.) levees (26 kms.), flood walls (4 kms.) and bridge viaducts (600 m.). Irrigation works for 8,500 has. involve two pumping plants, mains and laterals (125 kms.), canal structures (450 kms.) and roads (142 kms.).

TCGI provided review and updating of the design, and assisted the client in the evaluation of civil work documents, preparation and procurement of minor equipment as well as project monitoring.


Pampanga, Philippines

The Pampanga River swells during rainy season. To prevent flooding of the nearby areas, the river was cut at certain locations and provided with gates. The water that was then impounded will be used to irrigate lands with a net irrigation service area of 10,270 has. through the diversion weirs.

TCGI performed review of design and construction supervision for the project.


Western Part of Central Luzon, Philippines

A comprehensive study to establish adequate measures for flood control in the Agno River System and its allied rivers, namely: Poporto Floodway, Tarlac River, Camiling River, Banila River, Viday-Dipala River, Ambayoan River, Panto River and Cayanga River. An inventory of damaged structures such as earth dikes, walls and toes, riverbank slide, revetment, flood gates, intake facilities, bridges and water level gauging stations was conducted for future improvement and upgrading.

TCGI prepared the master plan, including identification of priority areas for flood control. Feasibility study was subsequently conducted, including detailed inventory of all structures for improvements.


Tuba, Itogon, Benguet, Philippines

Development and rehabilitation plan and budget preparation for the 14,800 – hectare Bued River Watershed which provides irrigation water for 4,470 has. of lowland rice fields and potable water and livelihood opportunities for 4,050 households.

The study included the preparation of an implementation plan and budget, watershed biophysical features and socio-economic conditions; preparation of control maps, project budgets and cash flows and recommendations on project implementation and management.


Nationwide, Philippines

Review of feasibility and detailed design of about 50 small-scale irrigation projects for mini-hydropower generation, fish culture, water supply and recreation projects. The selected impounding reservoirs located all over the country consist of earth fill dam with 30 m. height and 500 cu.m. water storage.

TCGI provided review of feasibility study and detailed engineering design, assisted DPWH in project management formulation for effective implementation of the projects under the 14th Yen OECF Loan, and assisted in construction supervision.


Palawan, Philippines

Rehabilitation and improvement of 5 existing communal irrigation systems with a total area of 4,700 has. The project covers 5 municipalities in mainland Palawan, namely: Roxas, Rizal, San Vicente, Taytay and El Nido and 10 island municipalities, namely: Balabac, Araceli, Dumaran, Coron, Linapacan, Cuyo, Aguttaya, Magsaysay, Busuanga and Cagayancillo.

TCGI provided review of feasibility studies, preparation of plans and profiles of canal systems and diversion dams and construction supervision.


Agusan del Norte, Northeastern Mindanao, Philippines

This project is envisioned to provide irrigation using water from two pumping plants to be constructed along the banks of Agusan River. Clay loam, sandy loam and silty clay are the four major soil classifications and are suitable for paddy cultivation. The7,922 hectares agricultural area includes 840 hectares irrigated by the existing Communal Irrigation Systems within the project area.

Electric power is provided by NPC from Maria Cristina Falls Hydro Electric Plant. NPC had committed to supply the 4.5 megawatts power for the 2 pumping plants of the project.


Bulacan, Philippines

The project is aimed at augmenting the water supply for the municipalities of Meycauayan, Guiguinto and Obando. The project features the development of new water sources with the construction of 12 tubular wells along the Angat River.
